Shrink Wrapping consists of using a special blend of 10 mil polyurethane sheeting completely shrouding the product, then applying heat to the material, which causes it to shrink, completely conforming to the shape of the product. The heated film then hardens and maintains it's rigidity, holding the product in place.
The process is used frequently to hold cartons in place on pallets or to hold special wrapping material in place during transit. It is frequently used on boats to cover and protect the interior from outside moisture.
This procedure and product has been approved and recommended by the Government for many of the shipments which formerly required crating to hold the product in place.
